In piecing together fragments of glass negatives, along the traces of the medieval town of Visby, an image of a forgotten female artist’s life’s work emerges. Directed by Florence Montmare and produced by MDEMC, Attaché, House of Reel, SVT, and Gotlands Filmfond. Support from Film på Gotland and Konstnärsnämnden. Release in 2026.

Chance and coincidence play an important part in this unique take on an all-American road movie, through a female lens. With a tapestry of diverse voices — Native, African American, and LGBTQ — the film depicts a turning point for humanity and the environment. Beyond the obvious differences, in the end, there is more that connects us than divides us.
