When a forgotten archive of fragile glass negatives is rescued from a landfill, a question emerges: Who was the woman behind the photographs?

The search leads to a name that had all but vanished from the history of Swedish photography: Märta Berglund, a photographer working in Visby during the 1920s. Hidden within the collection is a photographic world in fragments. What begins as a chance discovery unfolds into a detective story, winding through the medieval labyrinth of Visby. From the fragments emerges the portrait of a remarkable artist: one of Sweden's earliest female photographers, a national cultural heritage that came dangerously close to being lost forever.

The film is directed by Florence Montmare and produced by Attaché, MDEMC, and Anna J. Ljungmark (development). It is a co-production with Swedish Television and Gotlands Filmfond, with support from Film på Gotland and the Swedish Arts Grants Committee. SVT release on October 11, 2026.
